"Back in high school..."

Earlier tonight, I watched the American Music Awards with stud (I figured 'stud' is a better pet name than 'gotham'). During one of the commercial breaks, he sent me a picture of him wearing a pair of spiffy glasses.

It was the first time I saw him wearing spectacles, and boy did he look dashing. ツ

See now... I can never pull off wearing glasses, and there's actually a story behind it. Back in high school, I was "the dork" for most of my senior years. It wasn't until the final year - the year I graduated - that I became one of the popular kids... sorta. Heh!

This happened the year before I graduated. I was sitting in class paying attention to the teacher when one of "the class bully" came over to my desk and sat backwards on a chair in front of me. He started teasing me and it got to the point where he snagged my spectacles right off my face. There wasn't really much I could do, considering how the teacher was an old, frail man so needless to say, he would be of no help.

Then, the "class bully" wore my glasses and kept judging how thick the lenses were, and mocked how I looked in them. Back then, I was only 15 and was rather self conscious of my appearance.

So each time I present myself in front of anyone (excluding my family and my roommate, Kevin), I would have to be wearing either contact lenses or a blindfold of some sort. I would feel judged if I had on a pair of glasses and stood in front of a crowd/a group of friends.
